Please allow me to introduce our founder, Sherry Williams.It all began in 1962 when Sherry met Joe and fell in love. He had three sons and she had three daughters. Yep! Just like the Brady Bunch! Looking for ways to entertain her children, Sherry would take them to pick berries, wild flowers and other things to bring home and decorate the house with. By 1977, the family had grown to five daughters and five sons. Family celebrations (including weddings) became Sherry's specialty. After seeing her "labors of love", people outside the family started asking her for help. After moving to the beautiful northwest Florida Emerald Coast in 1982, Sherry began to get serious about designing for beach weddings. While helping the last two of her lovely daughters with their weddings, she saw a serious need for brides to be. It saddened her that not everyone could not afford the wedding of their dreams. She went about putting her dream to work and eventually opened the Little Wedding Chapel in the summer of 1998. Her motto is "every bride deserves a beautiful wedding." Her husband Joe (still her sweetheart) is still one of who performs the wedding ceremonies. Each couple is very special to them and they will tell you that marriage is a holy institution, ordained and sanctioned by God and should never be entered into "lightly". In the fall of 2003, our oldest daughter, Paula, joined the company to learn and assist with the beach weddings here in northwest Florida. Since that time she has become a real asset to the beach wedding company and is now in charge of all the beach weddings in Okaloosa County, Santa Rosa County, and Walton County (travel fees applying in some cases.) Still a brides choice.
Her talents are many, from planning to decorating and an imagination to keep every thing fresh and exciting! We are very proud of her and her accomplishments. She grew up in southeast Missouri, went to Arkansas State University then moved to St. Louis, Mo. During the time she lived there she married, had a daughter and continued college.. She ran her own business and worked for Roadway Trucking company where she was part time supervisor for five years before sinking her own bare feet into the white sand of the beautiful Emerald Coast. Quite an adjustment, for a city gal but Paula fell in love with the area and the wedding business! She now lives in Destin, Florida and will be running her own company, "Fantasy Beach Weddings" Her Dad and I will continue to work with her as we have complete faith and confidence in her abilities to serve with a sensative and caring heart! Bring YOUR bare feet to our sugar white sands with a Florida beach wedding,or a customized park wedding overlooking the Gulf of Mexico's waters. We will also be designing an arch on the beach for a simpler package next year with your choice of colors in flowers on the arch (this package can be turned into a customized larger package with an aisleway) and a real island hut arch (much larger...almost like a gazebo) for an island appearance draped in a gauzy fabric with a thatch roof!!! A surprise for all to see (so we can not be copied yet) All our beach weddings are originally designed uniquely with only you in mind!!!
